Avery, I think you win the award for the least legible blog so far. I am not sure what language that was in. I love you none the less. I am going to try to translate what it is you were saying.
This passage is way more awesome when you put it in context. If you read chapter 8 you will understand better. These were the Israelite priests that are talking here. They had just rediscovered the Word and had been reading it publicly for four days to God’s people, who had either never heard it or had not heard it for a long time. The Word was fresh to them and was putting them on their faces in awe and adoration for the greatness God. That is a powerful scene. Imagine a whole nation rediscovering God as if for the first time. This is also the first time in a while that they have felt like a nation and have worshiped together as God’s people. It is a powerful moment in history.
Here they are praising God with everything they have and are shouting these things to Him. They probably just understood the awesomeness of God’s love for Abram (the guy that God turned into Abraham by making him the father of multitudes) and wanted the world to know that we should all worship God on our hands and knees because of His power and love.
This strikes my heart because I do not give scripture the respect it deserves. I wish I could come to it like new every day. I want to be on my face just by hearing and understanding scripture. It is also cool that it is not just listening but understanding that turns hearts. I want to understand everything I can about scripture. It exponentially increases my awe for God’s greatness.
Here is a thought for all of you bloggers. It is always worth reading the passages around what you are studying to give it some context. You will understand what God is saying much more easily that way.
that was awesome
