October 30-John 1
Ok so this passage talks about how Jesus was sent into the world and how some rejected him and some accepted him as the son of God. It also talks about how john was sent by God to be a witness of the light. He kind of I guess prepared the hearts of the people to hear Jesus. I don't know if that is what the verse really means but that is how I interpreted it.
The second part of this chapter talks about how John was questioned by the Jews. They thought he was some kind of a prophet or something but John openly said he was not. They asked him why he baptized people if he wasn't the son of God or a prophet. He replied by saying "I baptize with water" but the one that follows I am not even worthy of untying the thongs on his sandals. Pretty much saying that his baptisms were only symbolic, and that the one he was preparing the way for was the real deal and his baptisms were more than a symbol.
The fourth part is mainly about John getting excited when he sees Jesus and he exclaims that the reason for his baptizing was to prepare the way for Jesus.
The fifth section talks about where Jesus is staying and how peter got his name.
The 6th section talks about how Jesus sees that Nathanael and tells him that because he has trusted in him he will go to live in heaven.

I am really tired and I still have a lot of home work to do so I will finish this up tomorrow.
